Barcelona, a destination with rich Catalonian culture, expansive city views and home to the largest mobile event in the world, MWC Barcelona (formerly Mobile World Congress). The theme of this year’s event was ‘Intelligent Connectivity’, with more than 2,400 companies showcasing their product and service solutions. Focusing on the challenges and opportunities the fully connected, intelligent world brings to society at this year’s event were our global technology clients; Nexign, Sequans Communications and ESET. Throughout the preparation for this landmark event, we worked closely with our clients to implement solutions to meet their visions. Additionally, we looked to express some of the core themes of digital trust, immersive content, digital wellness and the future of ‘Intelligent Connectivity’, within the exhibits.

Nexign provides advanced technological solutions for telecom operators and innovative software solutions for business. Nexign (formerly Peter-Service) launched its international business strategy under the new brand ‘Nexign’ in Hall 3 of the Fira Barcelona Gran Via, with an exhibit spanning across 360sqm. The client briefed us to deliver a ‘product-focused exhibit, utilising innovative technologies to create an engaging, informative on stand experience’, for the 107,000 key decision-makers in attendance. Our solution incorporated digital content that would lead visitors on a journey through the stand. This was achieved via a live audio tour that guided visitors around the exhibit, cleverly controlling the flow of traffic and delivering an exciting brand experience. Touchscreen technologies were utilised to display their product offerings and allow visitors to order from a selection of fruity smoothies before relaxing in the open plan seating area. Relaxation was a key-value set by the client, tackling the core theme of ‘digital wellness’. We strategically incorporated a Tranquillity Lounge, creating a unique environment away from the show floor, allowing visitors to relax on massage chairs and listen to an audio message outlining Nexigns services, whilst lying back in an oasis of calm.

Sequans Communications area 4G LTE chipmaker and leading provider of single-mode LTE chipset solutions to wireless device manufacturers worldwide. Having continued our growing relationship with this client from Mobile World Congress 2018, we were extremely pleased with the excellent results achieved at consecutive events. Due to this event bringing the international technology community to the same place at the same time, it was critical that the exhibit was a welcoming hub for delegates. We incorporated high level branding in the form of a large back lit hanging sign, as well a strategically positioned product showcase which flowed smoothly into the seating area. This created a meaningful journey from Sequans Communications offerings to valued conversations. Kimberly Tassin, Director, Marketing Communications at Sequans Communications, stated:

We really enjoyed working with Cook & Associates, they’ve been very attentive, their customer service is excellent. They answered all of the questions we had about design, methodology and we trusted what they gave us.”

ESET develop security software that now enables over 110 million users to enjoy safer technology. From the outset, our team of dedicated professionals were tasked with delivering a dynamic design to work around a structural pillar situated on the corner of the double-deck exhibit. This obstacle was overcome by capping off half the pillar with a roof, resulting in the lower half of the pillar becoming disguised into the exhibits overall appearance. The stand out attractor of the ESET exhibit was the selfieccino machine, allowing delegates to take selfies which were then printed onto the top of their coffees. A big hit with the high volume of ESET visitors! Additional features included a product demo area providing hands-on experience and presentation space for live talks from ESET professionals. The upper deck played host to the more private business discussions with two identical, spacious meeting rooms.
