The outbreak of Covid-19 profoundly changed all of our daily lives: leaving us unable to socialise with family and friends and restricted to our homes.

Throughout the UK lockdown, NHS staff among other key workers have become the real heroes and, despite the crisis, continue to work tirelessly to fight this invisible enemy and save thousands of lives. Nationwide support began with the moving #Clapforourcarers each Thursday, to rainbows in every window, and the BBC’s big night-in to name a few. The support and fundraising initiatives were steadily growing.

At Team Cook, we wanted to come together to find a way to give thanks and offer support of our own. So, we started our internal “Get Active” campaign to raise money for the NHS charities trust. Challenging one another to “Do 5k, donate £5+” from cycling to skipping as well as press-up and squat challenges. Here’s how we did:

Some of the Cook team also signed up as NHS volunteers, delivering medicines to vulnerable individuals in their areas.
