Barcelona, a destination with rich Catalonian culture, expansive city views and home to the largest mobile event in the world, MWC Barcelona (formerly Mobile World Congress). The theme of this year’s event was ‘Intelligent Connectivity’, with more than 2,400 companies showcasing their product and service solutions. Focusing on the challenges and opportunities the fully connected, intelligent world brings to society at this year’s event were our global technology clients; Nexign, Sequans Communications and ESET. Throughout the preparation for this landmark event, we worked closely with our clients to implement solutions to meet their visions. Additionally, we looked to express some of the core themes of digital trust, immersive content, digital wellness and the future of ‘Intelligent Connectivity’, within the exhibits.

With the growth of Cook & Associates at an all-time high and our continued expansion of the team, a key objective for 2019 is to increase our presence in new markets.
Earlier this month Client Relationship Manager, Abbie Wheatley, delivered our first project at the Recruitment Agency Expo. This event is the UK’s biggest trade-only expo dedicated to recruitment agencies, which was held at Olympia, London. We designed and built an engaging exhibit for our new client ETZ Payments. ETZ is recruitment back office software designed to reduce paperwork and streamline the back-office procedure.
Since 2012 Cook & Associates have rolled out successful Apprenticeship programmes in all departments. It provides the perfect platform for young talent to work closely with an experienced team in Design, Sales, Marketing or Operations.
Jamie Williams, Design Director at Cook & Associates says: “Not only do they get valuable hands-on work experience, but they also attend college to gain qualifications in their chosen fields. We are pleased to say that all five apprentices have grown into full time roles and become accomplished in their skill set.”
Christmas is just around the corner and with 2018 drawing to an end, we want to reflect back on what’s been a fantastic year. Plus, as the team continues to expand and develop, we’re looking forward to working on exciting projects in 2019.

Delivering over 100 projects worldwide in 2018, we have continued to impress in our aerospace and defence sectors whilst growing our portfolio of markets to include; electronics, mobile communications, maritime, financial services, hunting/outdoor and broadcasting.
Electronica is the world’s leading trade fair and conference for electronics, which has occurred biennially for over 50 years. We were excited to be returning for our second Electronica, with clients wanting to create show-stopping exhibits. Split across the course of four days, this event received 2,913 exhibitors from 50 countries, all of whom were looking to standout and exceed the expectations of the 73,451 visitors.

The Southampton Boat Show is the biggest boating event in the UK. Running since 1969 the annual event attracts more than 110,000 visitors over a total of 10 days. Our client, MDL Marinas, are Europe’s leading marina group with over 120 marinas in their cruising network. They have 40 years’ experience operating in the marina sector offering beautiful locations and excellent member benefits.

The 70thFarnborough International Airshow took place between 16 – 22 July. The biennial event showcased static and flying displays and consisted of over 70,000sqm of exhibition space with more than 1,500 exhibitors! The event spread over 7 days and combined a trade exhibition on weekdays followed by the public air show on the weekend. A fantastic experience in the UK’s oldest active airfield, and home to the first powered flight in Britain in 1908. We’re proud to have worked with 10 clients this year, successfully delivering 5 stands, 4 chalets and 2 static displays for; FLIR, Spirit Aerosystems, Qatar Airways, Derco, AIA, Proponent, Crane Aerospace and Electronics, Ultra Electronics, Textron and Moog.

Cook & Associates are proud to have completed their 18th year at EBACE. This key annual show, held at Palexpo in Geneva, is the networking event for over 13,000 business aviation professionals. The event brings together over 400 exhibitors showcasing their latest products and services, plus an impressive static display of over 50 business airplanes.
The team at Cook & Associates are always up for a challenge. When we received long-standing client Qatar Airways’ brief for ITB 2018, it really did combine all the elements needed to make this an especially memorable project. In February we received the green light to build the stand and got to work. Our team hit the ground running to design and build a luxurious double deck stand, a Q-Suite for visitors to experience the inside of QA’s business class offering and an attention-grabbing reveal event. The brief was to create “a wow effect that will be talked about. Visitors will want to come to the stand specifically to see”. The challenge …..
