Cook + Associates

At Cook + Associates, we’re proud to announce a major milestone in our sustainability journey: our near-term science-based target has been officially approved by the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). This approval signals our commitment to driving ambitious climate action – and doing our part to keep global warming below 1.5°C.

Our validated target:

Cook + Associates commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2023 base year, and to measure and reduce its Scope 3 emissions.

This target has been classified by the SBTi as aligned with a 1.5°C trajectory—the most ambitious designation available. It reflects not only our sense of urgency but our dedication to meaningful, measurable progress.

But ambition only matters if it’s backed by action. Following a full emissions audit, we identified key reduction strategies that will make a real difference across our operations. These include:

  • Transitioning to renewable electricity
  • Strengthening our air conditioning maintenance and refrigeration systems to reduce leakage and energy waste to reduce leaks.
  • Calculating and optimising logistics to lower emissions

  • Embracing digital communication to reduce unnecessary travel

  • Increasing the use of recyclable assets and sustainable materials

  • Utilising our global supplier network to source locally without compromise

  • Designing every space to be modular, reusable, and recyclable by default

  • Embedding carbon criteria into our service procurement policy

Together, these actions are forecast to cut our emissions by up to 76% by 2030, exceeding the 42% SBTi requirement.

As a company that designs and delivers global brand experiences, we know the power of presence, and we’re using ours to lead on climate.

We’re one of over 7,000 businesses worldwide taking verified science-based action through the SBTi, and we invite others across the events and experiential sector to join us.

Because when it comes to climate action, every degree matters—and every commitment counts.
