A Year to Remember

Christmas is just around the corner and with 2018 drawing to an end, we want to reflect back on what’s been a fantastic year. Plus, as the team continues to expand and develop, we’re looking forward to working on exciting projects in 2019.

The combination of our industry knowledge and expertise has allowed us to secure a number of high-profile contracts this year. Delivering over 100 projects worldwide in 2018, we have continued to impress in our aerospace and defence sectors whilst growing our portfolio of markets to include; electronics, mobile communications, maritime, financial services, hunting/outdoor and broadcasting.

At Cook & Associates no project is too big and that has been demonstrated by the success of the exhibitions delivered throughout the year. The Mobile World Congress series, held in Barcelona, Shanghai and California, are the mobile communication industry’s largest events. Working with clients; Sequans Communications and Intracom Telecom at MWC, was definitely a highlight of 2018. For these two clients we produced engaging and eye-catching exhibits, delivered with expert project management to ensure all aspects were met with pin point accuracy.

An increased presence in the world of electronics took another massive leap forward this year. Our Client Relationship Manager, Philip Shore, secured projects from Velocity Electronics, KEMET Electronics, Electronic Specifier and Startups Magazine for Electronica 2018. With clear objectives set by each account, our team got to work on designing bespoke experiences to fulfil the criteria given by each client, exceeding their expectations. Electronica 2018 was the perfect platform for us to showcase our capabilities in this sector and working closely with DBpixelhouse, allowed us to utilise the latest technologies to create interactive brand experiences. Technical Marketing Manager at KEMET Electronics, Wilmer Campanioni explains:

“Cook & Associates opened the door to other types of stand layouts, designs and technologies that can be brought into a stand. Our most successful feature of this booth is the object recognition table in the centre and the idea was brought to us by Cook & Associates. Just having a static attention grabber is not enough you have to have something dynamic, interactive and engaging.”

It doesn’t stop here!

Another highlight of 2018 was at ITB, where our visionary solution to create an unforgettable brand experience was recognised for our client, Qatar Airways. As part of the show-stopping presence we installed 160sqm of custom drop fabric to create a presentation curtain that hid the entire stand from view. Then, after a 10 second countdown, we executed a perfectly timed drop to reveal what was a truly magnificent stand. A string trio played to the audience in the packed exhibition hall as the stand was revealed – combining drama with style! Shady Tahbub, Manager Events & Exhibitions Operations at Qatar Airways says:

“This has been our best experience and presence at this world class event. Cook & Associates have delivered this event to a high-quality design on time and on budget”

Picture this! 10 clients situated in the UK’s oldest active airfield, surrounded by 70,000sqm of exhibition space, for the 70th Farnborough International Airshow. We are proud to have successfully delivered 5 stands, 4 chalets and 2 static displays at this year’s event for; FLIR Systems, Spirit Aerosystems, Qatar Airways, Derco Aerospace, AIA, Proponent, Crane Aerospace and Electronics, Ultra Electronics, Textron Aviation and Moog. It took our team of 102 people, 56 days to complete the builds.

With the New Year just a few weeks away, we can’t wait to get started on our projects for 2019. The addition of 10 new starters this year means that in 2019 you can expect a continuation of outstanding service. Client Relationship Manager Abbie Wheatley, will be stepping foot into even more new markets, having built relationships with clients in the pharmaceutical, medical and travel sectors.

After a very successful year we will be taking some time off over Christmas ahead of 2019 and will be closing our offices from December 20th through to the 2nd January. Have a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
