Meet our Apprentices

Since 2012 Cook & Associates have rolled out successful Apprenticeship programmes in all departments. It provides the perfect platform for young talent to work closely with an experienced team in Design, Sales, Marketing or Operations.

Jamie Williams, Design Director at Cook & Associates says: “Not only do they get valuable hands-on work experience, but they also attend college to gain qualifications in their chosen fields. We are pleased to say that all five apprentices have grown into full time roles and become accomplished in their skill set.”

Francesca (Frankie) Worsnop – Designer

As the first recruit to kick off our apprentice scheme back in May 2012, Frankie excelled through the programme becoming an Exhibition Stand Designer.

Having initially gained qualifications in Art & Design in her home city of Hull, Frankie made the decision to move to Bromsgrove to enrol on the apprenticeship scheme. A decision we are over the moon she made! Her role has presented the opportunity to travel to a number of shows to see first-hand the exhibits she has designed.

Frankie says: “My favourite project was a chalet for Qatar Airways at Farnborough Airshow. I loved getting creative with interior design and using luxurious materials to reflect their 5-star brand.”

Hannah Russell – Technical Designer

Joining shortly after Frankie in July 2012, Hannah has cemented her position as a Technical Designer. Hannah opted for the apprenticeship programme after finishing college, to gain qualifications in advanced design and to develop her knowledge in a creative working environment. Cook & Associates has enabled Hannah to obtain a greater insight into all areas of design.

Hannah explains, “My role is vital to ensuring a smooth and accurate transition from design to construction. I produce the detailed technical drawings required for exhibition stands, liaising closely with the operations team to ensure the design is realistic and achievable.”

Jack Tyler – Senior Project Manager

Jack joined us in October 2012. Having initially wanted to pursue a career in the RAF, a 9 month wait before he started his training landed him a job with us. Since the decision to join the apprenticeship programme as an Administrator, Jack has flown through the ranks, undertaking roles such as Project Co-ordinator, Project Manager and now Senior Project Manager. This is a true reflection that hard work pays off!

Jack has been trusted with project managing exhibits in all four corners of the world. His role has taken him to places such as, Australia, South Africa, USA, Dubai, Germany, Morocco, France, Abu Dhabi, Spain and the Netherlands.

Lewis Miles – 3D Visualiser

In February 2014, Lewis Miles started the design apprenticeship, and became our very first 3D Visualiser. This involves rendering the designs by applying lighting, shadows, people and a background to provide a realistic perspective of what clients can expect the stands to look like.

In his earlier years Lewis was heavily influenced by his grandad who used to sketch realistic drawings. Now Lewis has adopted a similar passion, by taking something which is a 3D design and rendering it to have a real-life representation.

Jasmine (Jas) Taylor – Project Co-ordinator

As the latest recruit to join the programme in July 2016, Jas has covered a variety of roles within the company. Starting off as a Sales and Marketing Apprentice while completing her Digital Marketing qualification she excelled through the first year of the scheme and progressed to the full-time role of Sales Administrator.

Now Jas has chosen to become a Project Co-ordinator in our Operations department. In this role she has been given the opportunity of working with our clients all over the world, attending events in cities such as Doha, Munich, London and Berlin.

Over the past year Cook & Associates has continued to grow rapidly, as we all look forward to exciting times ahead. Keep a look out for opportunities to join our amazing team via the website and our social media channels.
